September 18-20 was a very exciting weekend in women’s golf. The Solheim Cup takes place every two years and the location rotates between a site in Europe and in the USA. This year, it was held in St. Leon-Rot, Germany in front of an always loud and festive crowd. The Solheim Cup features a duel between 12 players for Team USA versus 12 players for Team Europe.
The competition featured some of the best women golfers in the world and both teams brought their best game. It was an exciting event from day one.
The final round proved to be a memorable one. Going into the last day, Team USA was down in points 10-6 with the 12 singles matches looming. The Americans came back from the 4 point deficit to beat Team Europe 14 ½ points to 13 ½ points. It was an exciting competition full of drama, controversy, big putts and a very patriotic atmosphere for both the teams.
